Nanaimo Port Authority operates two marinas with over 7000ft of moorage. The inner Boat Basin provides space for small to medium commercial and pleasure boats, secured with locked gates from 11pm-7am. Larger vessels are allocated place on W.E.Mills Landing & Marina, restricting access to the general public with locked gates. There is a courtesy dinghy where a 3 hour free tie up is available twice a week. 20 and 30 amp power is purchasable on all floats, with 50 and 100 amp at limited availability. Nanaimo Port Authority provides potable drinking water, pay phones, private access-controlled showers, and laundry and restrooms for all visiting boaters.

A fuel dock offering diesel and gas, propane exchange (20lbs), lubricants, ice, a small store as well as a floating sewage pump-out facility with a used oil facility. There is a parking facility for visiting boaters who require leaving a car for longer periods of time. Restaurants, pubs, retail shops, farmer's markets, a 4km walkway, grocery stores, liquor stores, bakery, drug store, florist, post office, a walk-in medical clinic, hairdressers and barbers, spas, a casino, movie theatre and historical sites are all located nearby the marina as well as bus and taxi service. Scheduled passenger service between downtown Nanaimo and Vancouver is provided by seaplane companies from the adjacent terminal.
