With over 30 years running marinas and chandleries, founder, Steve Jackman spent hours daily with boaters working through cruising itineraries and weather windows as they navigate the Inside Passage.
To facilitate those meetings, an extensive series of bookmarked websites were needed to work through all the necessary details; and in those moments YachtingBC.com was born.
Officially launched in 2015, what makes YachtingBC.com different is, as a boater’s resource first, it is the most efficient way for boaters to access the information to safely navigate the British Columbia coastline and the Inside Passage.
This, coupled with providing a focused search engine of marine-related businesses, coastal communities, yacht sales, charters and the latest product specials helps makes YachtingBC the ultimate one stop shop for mariners.
Stretching from Seattle all the way to Alaska along the 800 nautical miles of the Inside Passage, the British Columbia coastline offers some of the most spectacular cruising grounds is the world. With only 68nm being open water in Queen Charlotte Sound, in addition to providing a picturesque backdrop, our waters also are some of the most protected in the world offering many diverse archipelagos from the Southern Gulf Islands to the Great Bear Rainforest.
Attending boat shows for over 25 years as a broker, marina manager, association, board member, and as a YachtingBC representative, founder Steve Jackman understands and appreciates the immense economic impact the boating community has on the province of British Columbia, and the potential of what’s possible.
Through our network, collaborations with media outlets and international associations and through our newsletters, YachtingBC was designed to be an inexpensive way to access the boating community.
What differentiates YachtingBC from other similar portals is not only the ease of access to the necessary information boaters need to safely navigate our waters, but also the extensive boat show schedule we attend as we proudly promote our province to the world.
Creating a Community. British Columbia has some of the best cruising grounds in the world, but similar to many cruising destinations, help is needed protecting our marine ecosystems and wildlife. In addition to conservation, there has been a need for a long time to get more youth involved in the marine, and specifically the marine trades industry. With each advertising purchase you are able to direct YBC to what conservation or humanitarian initiative you would like to support.
With over 30 years in the yachting industry, and our extensive boat show schedule our boating network and mailing list of active boaters helps get your yachts in front of more potential clients with our economical marketing programs specifically built for yacht brokers and dealers.
In addition to our website, advertising on YachtingBC.com each advertiser is included in our social media platform, from sharing your posts to our team creating high impact videos for our clients and inclusion in our film festivals and events at both domestic and international boat shows.
YachtingBC is also now a digital E-Magazine, not only promoting the cruising destinations, but highlighting BC businesses, marine products, new yachts and local listings.
So much of the yacht world is based on weather, from navigating passageways to booking photo shoots and eco-tourism activities; so timing, communication, trust and execution is everything.
Our team has extensive experience in the marine industry, not only in media, but sales, design and
operations of brokerages, chandleries, magazines, marine associations, and marinas. We understand your business like few digital marketing agencies can.
YachtingBC and the Essential Yacht Collective are proud supporters of YachtAid Global, that represents the marine industry using 100% of all donations to provide disaster relief and recovery, humanitarian aid, and ocean conservation initiatives to some of the most remote areas of our globe.
